Why You Should Be Working With This French Door Refrigerator With Ice Maker
French Door Refrigerator With Ice Maker Review Combining form and function, French-door refrigerators come with elegant double doors that open to an enormous fridge on top and freezer drawer below. These refrigerators stand out due to their distinctive features, including through-the-door dispensers as well as higher-end Ice makers. We contacted Ladina Schopf – an interior designer, architect, and founder of LS Projects – for her suggestions on how to pick the right home. We looked at storage capacity, layout and energy efficiency among other aspects. GE Profile Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator Like the name suggests, the GE Profile series is geared towards those who want to incorporate cutting-edge technologies into their kitchen. This refrigerator is packed with them, from an in-the-door Keurig K-cup coffee maker to a smart water dispenser. But these flourishes don't mask mediocre performance, especially in the refrigerator's freezer and an ineffective temperature-controlled drawer. This fridge is expensive, so I expected better. Apart from that minor flaw, this fridge is a fantastic choice. It comes with a huge freezer compartment, which is uncommon in counter-depth French door refrigerators. Additionally, it holds a fair amount of frozen food when compared to similar models. The fridge comes with 17 shelves and compartments. The fridge compartment has 18.5 cubic feet, which is typical for a French-door refrigerator at this price. It has a decent-sized freezer in the left side. But it's not the most spacious one I've seen. You can adjust the shelves in both compartments to create customized storage arrangement for the items you need to store. The interior design of the GE PYE22PYNFS is attractive. Its LED lighting is a nice addition, and the in-door storage bins have a third shelf that folds down so that you can store tall items. The drawers come with temperature controls that let you set them to Meat, Beverage, or Deli settings. They're easy to open and close, however I found their plastic textured coatings to be a little rough on the fingers. The GE PGE29BYTFS Smart Refrigerator includes the all the features you'd expect from a fridge in this price range with Wi-Fi and app support through GE's SmartHQ software. The app, available for iOS and Android devices can let you control your fridge from anywhere in world, and offers many options for customizing. It also sends you notifications when the door is left unlocked as well as when the freezer or fridge requires defrosting, and when the filter needs to be changed. It would be nice it GE PYE22PYNFS could offer Precise Fill which is a feature found in a few GE refrigerators that allow users to choose the number of cups they would like to pour out. It does have a countdown feature on the display of the fridge to show how much water you have left, but it's not as useful as Precise Fill. Bosch Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator The Bosch French-door Refrigerator is a stunning piece of equipment. It's designed to look like a seamless piece of your kitchen. The fridge uses fingerprint-resistant stainless steel, which is a great feature for busy households. It also features a veggie compartment that keeps fruits and vegetables fresher for longer periods, and two compressors to preserve food. The ice maker is one of the best we've ever tested, and it produces a pyramid-shaped form of ice with a low water usage. french door refrigerator freezer is ideal for a single household or kitchenette that needs an elegant design and top of the line food preservation. This refrigerator was the highest-rated refrigerator in our Refrigerators test, for a few reasons. Its freezer temperatures held firm at a level that was just above 0 degrees Fahrenheit, never fluctuating more than a fraction a degree—this is key to avoiding freezing burn. The fridge's fridge section also performed well, reaching the temperature that was set for the initial setting within an hour and maintaining the temperature constant over the course of our testing. Bosch is known for its top-of-the-line appliances, so it's no surprise that this counter depth refrigerator is also a smart appliance with the option of connecting to your home Wi-Fi network and Bosch's Home Connect platform. This app lets you monitor and control your refrigerator remotely from your tablet or smartphone. The refrigerator is costly however, it offers excellent features and capabilities at a fair price. While the fridge is an amazing appliance however, it is important to understand the limitations. It has a limited shelf space, so you'll need to be creative when storing tall items. Additionally the shelves aren't completely sprillproof, and can easily be damaged or stained by sharp objects. The trays are easily removed from the fridge. However, they should be cleaned regularly to prevent the growth of mold. If you're thinking of buying this refrigerator, make sure to check out our reviews of the GE Appliances French Door Refrigerator as well as the Bosch Bottom Freezer Refrigerator. LG Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator The LG LRFLC2706S is an excellent counter-depth refrigerator that packs a lot of storage in the frame's compact size. It has a sleek, fingerprint-resistant stainless-steel finish and features thick handles that make them comfortable to grip. Inside, the fridge features the standard French-door layout, with gallon-sized door bins on each door as well as two rows of shelves that capture spills and a set more spacious drawers. The top shelf on the right can be folded down to give tall items more headroom. There's also a full-width drawer to store deli items and an internal water dispenser. One of the best aspects of this refrigerator is that the Ice maker is located in the freezer, making it easy to transfer ice into the fridge for use when required. The freezer features thoughtful design elements, too, like sliding drawers that can help you better organize the position of your items. It also has a large container for storing frozen food and a separate bin for ice. Another great feature of this refrigerator is its Smart InstaView panel. You can manage the temperature, lighting and more of your fridge from your smartphone. It's an easy way to keep track of your refrigerator and manage it, especially when you're not at home. But while the Smart InstaView is a neat feature, it doesn't necessarily add to the overall performance of the refrigerator. The refrigerator took longer to defrost food and chill it than some others we test. This is probably due to its greater capacity. Another issue with this refrigerator is its doors. The handles that are sunken allow smaller people to open them from the bottom. However, taller people still have a hard time closing them without slamming them. It would have been much better if they came with a front-mounted handle. The LG Counter-Depth MAX fridge is an excellent choice for those who want to combine the aesthetics of a French-door refrigerator with more efficient design. It has a capacity that is above average for counter-depth models and also cools evenly. It's also a little less than the best counter depth refrigerator that comes with an ice maker, which makes it a great option. Frigidaire Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator This Frigidaire French door refrigerator is a good option when you're looking for a French door refrigerator that doesn't cost a lot of budget. It has a simple design that isn't as striking in appearance as some of the competition but it does have enough features to make it a solid choice. Its most important feature is the temperature adjustable drawer which helps keep food items such as meat and vegetables fresher for longer. It also has a large ice maker as well as a water dispenser. The “Chill Drawer”, which sits above the two crisper bins, is a excellent feature. The drawer lets you direct a portion of the fridge's cooling power into this area so that you can keep food items which need extra attention. This feature can be adjusted by using a slider located outside the drawer. You can also adjust the general cooling settings for the entire fridge. I have found that the generic settings are more effective than the specific ones. In my tests, I discovered that the temperatures of the refrigerator were fairly consistent across various parts of the refrigerator. The temperatures in the top, bottom and middle of the refrigerator did not differ significantly from 38 degrees. This is a great performance, but does not quite make it to the top of our rankings. This fridge has a few other neat features, including a temperature-monitoring display that alerts you to fluctuations and provides a forecast for the day ahead. This fridge can be paired with a smart thermostat in order to obtain more precise readings of the internal temperature of your fridge. The Frigidaire FGHB2866PF's exterior is constructed of stainless steel with a grey-bodied body which has a “smudge-proof” finish. It does a great job of repelling fingerprints and streaks even when compared to the glossy stainless steel finishes on other appliances I've tried.
